A good friend handles all the instruments for our local auction house. It's a well-known operation with many
excellent vintage instruments passing through. I stopped by today and there was a 1920's Martin mahogany
Soprano. What a sweet little Uke. It had no strings so I couldn't play it. There was a crack in the top and a
couple of small ones on the back. The tuners were in great shape as was the neck and frets.
It is expected to fetch $ 200-300 the September auction.

You should buy it, Wash. Sounds like a good one.

A crack or two in a uke of that vintage isn't unusual or particularly off-putting. Assuming it's in playable condition, it would be a steal in that price range.
