hi all,
I'm looking for some suggestions for good fingerstyle songs to start with. Would prefer if Tab and video were available.

I've done some fingerstyle exercises but I feel like an actual song might help more.

thanks

The Easy Classical solos are all easy but complex enough that they sound good. A more advanced player can use these as a foundation and beef them up, a beginner can get challenged and still have fun.

The Mark Kailana Nelson Learn to play Fingerstyle is the best of the various finger style instruction books I've found.

Agree with the mark kailana nelson books, I found them very good when I started.

I started with Aldrine's La Vie En Rose video with the fingerpicking intro that is on the home page of Ukulele Underground.

Right now, I am doing this set of videos on the Travis pick. Lesson 6 shows how to do it, and Lesson 7 applies it in the intro song Dust in the Wind. Lesson 11 continues it. For some reason, his explanations work for me more than just reading a tab.

I just used this page of tab and wrote notations for my use while watching the videos.

What is finger- style is it a broad term or something specific.

Also I found this at cheezland site on the net (you will have to search for it)

60 Minutes and 4 Chords That Will Change Your Life!

It is supposed to be for kids but it will keep me going for a while. It is just a few easy chords that are rough enough/close enough to get you started without too much finger twist and you can play lots of songs.
