I've been waiting impatiently all day, and about an hour ago, a large box turned up with my name on it. Large boxes to ukulele players may mean up to eight different things (beginning with soprano, tenor, concert and going up to lap steel ukes.)

For me, it could mean only one thing.

We made the deal a few days ago, and I've now adopted UkeyDave's resonator uke. It's a bit mindbending getting used to friction tuners, but these are good ones, and finally now seem to be holding their tune.

Can't wait to get to know this uke a lot better!

It's a Gretsch G9112. :) It will, once I get used to strumming in a way that facilitates the cone doing its thing.

Thanks, Kathryn.

Just out of curiosity - what makes a resonator scary to you? :) I was leery for a while, because of the restringing aspect, and tuning with friction pegs, but I couldn't be happier with the uke.

I love aggressive thumb strums and up strums. (I don't have large fingers/fingernails) A little Formby techniques sounds great too.

wow very cool! I like it

congrats shady!

how special and nice to keep it all in the seasons family!

do you think you'll use it on a seasons vid soon?
