View Full Version : Played a Tyde Tenor today

Last year at the Reno Ukefest, I stopped by a table displaying a few basic but nicely made ukes that were apparently made by two guys working in a furniture building shop near Lake Tahoe. I was interested enough to go back to their table a few times

Today, I played one of their tenors (at The Strum Shop). Still looked bling free, but the construction looked spot on and the wood sounded every bit as good as it looked. Reclaimed looking redwood top and what I think was walnut back and sides. Like I said, these are not embellished with bindings and purflings or inlays (although I did see one with inlay on the web site), but the tone was warm with an edge. Not quite bright, but it let you know that it was talking.

Interesting uke.

Nice looking instruments. I love bling free natural style. Thank you for sharing.
