Here's the new Philly in the herd. Cedar top and Koa back and Sides. The Cedar has close to 43 growth rings to the inch. Brian cut a section out of a log over 50 years ago, estimated to be close to 1,400 year old it was felled about 100 years ago. Very nice sound but the cedar is soft. Got a few scratches already. Took it to David Newton and he cut the nut down and installed a plastic pick guard. The neck is mahogany, and it's big, like a 1957 Gibson Les Paul neck, but i am getting used to it. Will post some sound samples.

Beautiful. My favorite part is the fact that it's from a tree that was that old. I always wanted to know where it came from and how old the tree was that made my acacia concert. Very cool thing to think about.

Really nice! Gotta trim those strings though! ;-)
