First post - I am currently teaching myself how to build instruments (slowly) and thought I would post my first uke which I am pleased with but have nothing to compare it too soundwise!
I have mostly built SS guitars/ bouzoukis to date and I think I have maybe left the top a bit thick.

Top: S Redwood
B/S: English Yew
F/B, Bridge, Headplate: Rosewood
Purfling: Multicoloured Rope
Rosette/Inlay: Gold Mirror
Neck: Cedrela
Finish: Morrells Pre-Cat

It's really pretty! I love the rosette and purfling, and the veneer on the back of the headstock.

That looks really nice. A lot better than my first uke :)

Where did you get those tuning pegs?

Impressive work!!! It's a beauty for sure. The body appears to be quite deep, how deep are the ribs?

Thanks granger, I didn't follow any plans - ribs are 80mm at tail 70mm at neck, seems just right to me!

Galloway,

80 mm is just fine, must have been the camera angle. Once again, nice work.

Wonderfully build.. how did you brace your top and how thick was the sinker redwood top?

thanks!!

Thanks hop-man. Bracing is just two transverse braces and a bridge patch. Top was just shy of 2mm. Finish is morrels pre cat lacquer
