After a few weeks of trying these out, Mainland has decided to carry these as a stock item. It's a great asset for anyone who gigs a lot. Chris Ramsey (the sound god of UWC) gives them the thumbs up.

Hi Mike
Intriguing...but they only run on phantom power from the xlr? Does that make them useless in a DI>amp application?

I thought this box acts as a DI so you wouldn't need a separate one. Control the tone thru the PA. Just a guess

Pretty much, the description explains the benefits pretty well. It gives a noticable boost, eliminates feedback, and "broadens the frequency response" which for me translates to a great warm full tone without any loss or distortion of the true sound of the instrument.
