The sound sample that HMS provides sounds passable to my beginner ear. I like the fact that it is Electric/Acoustic. Does anyone here own this by any chance and can give it a little review?

Any others that are out there that are similar to consider? I know Kala has one for about another $100 but I'd rather keep it in the under $300 range if possible and I like the cutaway style.

Sounds sweet, but not so "chimey" Here's a new one from Ohana under $300. Mike at Uke Republic has some. I think you'd have to pay quite a bit more to get one that sounds better than this one, if as good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhEotOwF7V8 Mike can stick a piezo pickup in it for you too. K&K would be nice.

Looks and sounds like it's worth a try...but Cory would make a ______ sound good! (Fill in the blank...)
If you've never played one they are a little harder to play, and tune...can be frustrating. I love my Peter Howlett koa 8, I have it just so I can hear myself at the kanikapila...

Well I have the time to be frustrated and I just play for fun. I imagine HMS doesn't sell any real junk ukes.

Hey that sounds sweet and I've been wanting to try an Ohana. You may have just made them a sale. I assume they do a decent set up, is that correct? Or maybe Mim has it also.

The Ohana sounded....at least to me.....much better.
