:agree: - I've not really sought out any clawhammer tutorials but I've always been a bit amazed by guys playing that style. After that video I think I might just be able to actually get there.
It is good, one of the two (the other was for banjos) that managed to get me started playing in that style. It does take time, many days, if not several weeks (obviously not all the time!) until suddenly the "muscle memory" takes hold and the basic bum-titty becomes second nature ... then take it from there, introduce hammer-ons and pull offs and the various other features that can make up a clawhammer arrangement. The nice thing is, once you've got the basic melody down, the rest is just ornamentation, you can fit in (or leave out) whatever your skill set can manage and the result still sounds like a clawhammer tune
