The ukulele is a koa bodied concert sized National Reso-Phonic. These are great quality instruments built in San Luis Obispo, California. The resonator cone puts out a lot of volume so I just use a condenser microphone (Neumann KM 184) at my live gigs. Nationals cost a little more than your usual resonators but they are the best, in my opinion.
