View Full Version : 1960's Ibanez Baritone Ukulele- Cedar and Mahogany $300

Up for sale: A high quality vintage baritone ukulele made in Japan by Ibanez. I guess by my research that it was made in the late 60's, but there is no way to be sure.

It is very well made in the spanish guitar tradition and is made from high quality woods. Cedar top, mahogany back, sides and neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge.

I glued up the back, made a new nut and saddle, installed new Gotoh friction tuners, new strings and some fret work. As you can see, it has some cosmetic wear and tear, but has is solid and tight and ready to go.

It is lightly built, so the tone is punchy for baritone and has great sustain.

It is easy to play with medium low action and no buzzing.
It has an 1.5 inch nut, which is nice and wide for fingerpicking, etc...

The scale length is 19 7/8 inches.

With original chipboard case.

$300 includes shipping in the US. International shipping add $25.

Wow, Aaron. A 50 year old Japanese-made name-brand baritone, with your expert set-up, new buttery Gotoh friction tuners, and a video sound sample that is off the hook. (not to mention free US shipping!)

If I didn't already have a Mya Moe baritone, I'd snap this up faster than a turtle in a pond. That is one great deal, and one fine instrument, indeed. Steve
