You forgot to mention that Corey is playing the song on your new Ko'olau, which is absolutely achingly, breathtakingly beautiful!

hey Daniel....

that was a great recording...Andrew and Greg(visiting from Seattle) were lucky to see/hear the recording too......Corey played it so sweet....
btw the Ko'olau CS sounds so good and it is only one day old when they made the recording...should get better in time...

Indonesian Rosewood/Sinker Redwood top is a great combination....the tone of the uke is beautiful

This is one of my fave songs and was really pleased to find this awesome ukulele version of it some months ago ! I'm halfway through learning it now. I had to switch to a low G to play it and boy I'm so glad I did !!

I think that I am pretty much sold on the Ko'olau CS as my one acoustic ukulele. I'm thinking redwood and milo.

I think KoOlau stands head and shoulders above the three other popular Hawaiian K brands.

There...I said it.

haha...I don't think anyone doubts that. They concentrate more on the custom builds so the price reflects it.

Congrats on a beautiful uke!

The song is beautiful as well (although Corey could probably make Knickknack Paddywack sound good). Does anyone have a link to a tab for this?

It's cool that Corey doesn't mind people figuring out the tabs. Props to Bertrand, one talented guy! Thanks to Andrew for having a cool website.

Hawaii50, that ukulele is truly fabulous. I have watched the video again. Super congratulations. I'm so glad you posted this video.

Oh, and HMS remains King Kong of ukulele videos; they added a tutorial for Corey's (Emmanuel) The Mystery last night. Wow!

A superb instrument in the hands of a consummate player can be magical. That was pretty much Andrew's assessment of this performance and I agree. I'm the Greg that Len mentions who was fortunate to be present at this recording. Corey also said that this custom Ko'olau has that extra something (presence, resonance?) that makes it special. For sure, he can make any ukulele sound pretty good, but this is the kind he truly enjoys playing.

At the conclusion of the song there was a moment of stunned silence and I actually found myself looking for some sign of speakers or amplification, even though I knew there wasn't any. There was a sense of confusion, as if my eyes couldn't believe what my ears had just heard.

So, Happy NUD Len, you got another keeper. ;)
