well, I started to play ukulele last year, and ukulele is the only music instrument I play ; I also started to sing and I recently tried to put some chords on french poets as Paul Verlaine, Victor Hugo or Gaston Couté...

here are some songs made with Paul Verlaine's great and sensible poetry, hope you'll like it...

Paul Verlaine is a french poet of the XIXth century, more informations here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Verlaine

the first one is : "Le ciel est, par-dessus le toit" :

Verlaine wrote this when he was in jail after shooted Arthur Rimbaud...

here is the poem and the english translation : http://www.recmusic.org/lieder/get_text.html?TextId=16292

I really enjoyed this Philippe. This music works seamlessly with the verse and your voice is sounding beautiful.

Excellent! The only Verlaine I remember from my high school French class - Il pleure dans mon coeur comme il pleut sur la ville...

thank you Jon, and Myrna, this is indeed one of his mist beautiful poem...

C'est bien la pire peine
De ne savoir pourquoi
Sans amour et sans haine
Mon cœur a tant de peine !
