A local musician was given an old Wizard banjo uke - I'll post images shortly. It has what seems a 14" scale. Open back. Could be from the 1920s or 30s. It's in fairly good shape, and the skin is in great condition. Needs a strip along the top side of the fretboard, but it plays well without it.
Comes with an odd-shaped cardboard case, too ("Reliance" stamped on top).
Anyone have a link to some good info about the Wizard brand? What little I've found so far suggests the brand was made by different companies at different times.
He wants to sell it, and asked for my advice, but I really don't know that much about banjo ukes. I did some prelim surfing yesterday, but didn't find anything satisfactory. Help would be appreciated.
Will post pics here as soon as I have them downsized to fit the UU style.
