Contra Uke (octave ukulele)

I just finished building what I call a Contra Uke. It is an octave uke that I designed with a 22 1/4 scale and 13 inch lower bout. The back and sides are cherry with a large walnut center strip on the back (like a Martin D-35). The top is spruce and is fan braced. The picture with three ukes has by baritone, Contra and tenor. the other picture is an inprogress picture of the back.

I like that uke with the big oval sound hole. Very nice rosette!

Looks great! Great Idea too! However the sound sample isn't hopefully a reflection of how it really sounds. I only use an ipad so its possible my speakers are too crap. How much would you sell one of these for?

It was recorded using the mic on the camera so the sound could be better. I sold the one in the video and am building a second one with walnut back and sides and a cedar top. email me and we can talk about it more. dave@schneiderguitarrepair.com
