side soundport placement?

If I wanted to lower the bass of the ukulele and increase treble would the sideport hole be better closer to the botton waist or middle or top near closer to the neck?

I think Chuck Moore has said that placement of a side sound port on the lower bout tends to lessen bass response more then placing it at the upper bout.

Placement of a side sound port (ie enlarging your sound hole) anywhere raises the top/air pitch as much as making a sound hole smaller increases it.
