It ain't a uke but here's what I've been up to lately....
A small body guitar, like a Taylor GS Mini. 23.5" scale, spruce top, mystery wood back/sides, rosette, spanish cedar neck, ivoroid binding. Huge sound from this little guitar!!

Yup...standard tuning. It doesn't even feel too floppy with the short scale. Just slightly crowded on the figerboard compared to a regular scale

That's good. I used to have a cheap short scale guitar, a Harmony, that sounded terrible unless pitched up a couple of semitones.
I don't mind a crowded fingerboard. One can always use an open tuning to give the fingers a break.
That things a looker too. I'm a bit envious. :p
