I owned a D6 4 years ago, but I was forced to sell it so I could pay for things I desperately needed for college. I missed it terribly.

I was finally able to get another one (even though I probably STILL shouldn't have).... but I have no regrets after holding it in my hands once more.

Ah... to be in love again.

Sweet, Dane! Glad you got another one. I've been looking at these and the islander for a while now. Need to bite the bullet and get one. Enjoy it!

I'm sure it's as lovely to play and hear as it is to look at. Congrats!

I've played the main kanilea line of guilele, and they were fantastic instruments, but I think they only do baritone scale length on both the Kanilea, and the Islander. I prefer tenor and ADGCEA tuning, that's why I chose to go with KoAloha again. Also I'd played one before and remembered how super thin the neck is, which I LOVE.

Daniel Ho plays a D6 for sure, I don't know much about Herb Ohta Jr though. He is playing a normal uke in this video with Daniel Ho. The video is older and I think Daniel Ho now plays the spruce top custom (http://www.koaloha.com/products/custom-works/daniel-ho-custom-d-vi/) that KoAloha made for him.
