Morning all from the uk i fancy having a go at making a tin can uke but dont know where to start where can i get the parts from to make it can anyone point me in the right direction please many thanks :)

I have done these two different ways with success. #1- Cut a hole in the top of a crappy, heavily built uke and place a can in it on small wooden blocks so it is raised off the back. Add banjo style bridge and tailpiece and go to town. #2- Take a larger can and shove a neck with a dowel stick through it. Proceed from there. I think there are old threads on this topic here on the forum. Attached are two videos.

wow - that second one is fabulous sounding. That's an excuse for buying a cheap ukulele - couldn't do that to one of my Dolphins!

Is it just wedged into the hole as well as held by the string pressure, or must the can have its sides free?
