Hi guys
For my second ukulele I was thinking of doing inlays in my fretboard
Do any of you know where I could get some simple fret dots for a tenor from?
Also what types of tools do you need? And where can you find these tools which are good but not very expensive?
I have been looking for a router and found ones like these...
( in the pictures )

Thanks a lot for the help it is greatly appreciated!image.jpg

The simplest is a round dot. I use 4mm pearl dots on ukes. All that is required is a 4mm brad point bit and a drill press.

As you're in England, I don't know where local to you is the best place to get that sort of stuff. In Australia the best spot is Mother of Pearl Supplies in Melbourne.

If you don't have a specific supplier for your shell and all you need are dots then ebay is as good a source as anywhere for small quantities.
If you are looking for an inlay router I would suggest the ones in your photos are too large and cumbersome. You also want the base to be minimalistic so as no to impede your vision. A GOOD Dremel with the StewMac base does the job well.
