id like to hear chords strummed on it to see how it sounds
i'm actually interested in the history of the uke and its ancestors
so i'd be interested to hear how it sounds.

[QUOTE=eugene ukulele;1541890]In Oz at the moment we have a nightly live entertainment-comedy show on tv called 'The Full Brazilian' to correspond with each day of the world cup.

The "house band" is a three piece: bass, percussion and UKULELE. Yep, we got ukulele every night on tv for a month. Perfect. :)[/QUOTE

awesome, what style music do they usually play kind of like latin jazz with uke?

Yeah that kind of hot latino rhythm thang, tried to find a youtube of them but nothing just yet though I'm sure there will be in due course. The guy plays a cutaway, a tenor by the looks of it.

sounds cool as of late ive been getting into a lot of jazz (any kind) so seems cool!

Yes, but I do have the re-entrant top string. I came from banjo which also uses DGBD tuning, or rather gDGBD. Remember that first Honolulu newspaper report on the Portuguese instruments mentions their tuning as being banjo-like.

If I could have gotten my Mele soprano to sound like this one, you'd have had to pry it from my cold dead fingers to get it away from me. As it is, I traded it.
