I have heard that some of " his pieces " especially those that were intended for students were actually written by former students and contemporaries of his ....so it would be fairer to say " in the style of " rather than by....still, it is annoying though when you've slaved away to learn a piece of Bach on the piano to find it's not a piece of Bach.....but an offshoot ....I am now eyeing all classical music with deep suspicion and questioning the provenance...... lol
