Up for grabs is a koa Maui Music SKR retro soprano built by Peter Liberman in Hawaii. Bought new this year. From talking to Pua Pua, this model is only available through them…which includes the retro headstock (which I love) and friction tuners. Here's the link below...

They're pricey new but they are worth it (IMO). I think as the original owner I've eaten most of the depreciation. I've owned all the K brand sopranos and this one is special. It has a slight radiused fretboard, effortless playability and no buzzing. This MM has one of the sweetest, smoothest and fullest sounds I've tried. Somewhere between a Kamaka and Kanilea. It's not full of punch or bite like an old mahogany soprano. It's smooth and creamy.

Here's an iPhone sound sample. It's got SC soft light medium strings which mellow out the sound even more.

Price is $599 Paypal shipped in US. More elsewhere. I've got a nice thick padded Kala gig bag or a foam hard case…your choice.

I think it's retro because his latest designs have more bling than this one. Harkens back to his pre-fire days.
