Hi all,

Just finished No. 5 ukulele which was a commission for a friend of a friend, now my friend as well. We are now in the same uke social group.

The concert uke was made from the following:

Back and sides - Tasmanian Tiger Myrtle
Soundboard - Huon Pine
Neck - Blackwood with Antarctic Beech laminate
Headplate, fretboard and bridge - Western Australian Ringed Gidgee.
Tuners - Gitoh SG381 Mini Tuners
Strings - Aquila

Like! I love the look of tiger myrtle. Any chance of a sound sample?

Thanks,

I'm not sure of a entire ukulele made from Huon Pine, it is so damn soft you get a scratch by looking at it. I have enough for about 3 more ukes but will use other timbers for a while.

It has a very unique aroma which is pleasant on the nose.

I am located in Gippsland, Victoria.

Hi Jim,

I didn't get a chance for a sound sample, the ukulele was picked up the day I finished it. It has a lovely tone, very mellow and the new lady owner loves it.

Yes, I agree with you on the Tiger Myrtle, quite unique and finishes very well.
