Can anyone who's tried Blacklines and Browns please give me your impressions on how they were similar (or different). I've tried Blacklines (I liked them), just wondering how similar Browns are.

Thanks!

Browns are great for knocking the higher register off ukuleles that are excessively "bright". For example, Browns'll tame that lip-smacking, I-just-sucked-a-lemon maple ukulele down a goodly notch so that one can put it in their mouth and no longer spit it out (sorry for mixed metaphor: taste and sound--it's early). Also, in general, Browns are quieter strings; Worth Clears and Blacklines are not quiet, per se.

Fremont Blacklines, my favorite strings, do not have that knock-down quality. They just sound good, particularly on mahogany instruments. I do not know why they do, they just do (as you know, too).

After Oasis GPX strings Fremont Blacklines took just a little bit of bright off my Clara. Worth Browns would likely warm it a little bit more. Both sets are very nice strings
