Hi all,

I've used UU a LOT over the past few years as I transitioned from guitar to uke but never had a reason to post until now as all my questions were in old threads. I've got a lovely little collection of ukes of varying sizes (sopranino - tenor) and I'm hankering for a baritone to complement the set.

In my local music shop there's a solid acacia baritone uke that looks pretty nice and is surprisingly cheap (£170). I've not had chance to play it yet but tried to find out more information on the brand and got nowhere.

So, has anyone tried Lucitana ukes? Can they recommend them? At that price it seems a little too good to be true!

Here's a link that probably tells you what you already know. My guess is that it's made by the same company that makes Lehua by the looks of it. I know there have been a few discussions on Lehua ukes here on the underground: http://www.fretmusic.co.uk/Lusitana-Ukulele/

I have a Lehua long neck soprano. It's no beauty, but it's relatively well built and is worth the price. My Lehua has a plastic nut and saddle and is on the bench to be upgraded. I'm installing some better friction tuners on it as well. That Lucitana appears to have geared tuners, probably about the same as the ones on the Cordobas.

Here's the Lehua website so you can make your own comparison: http://www.lehuaukulele.com/index.html

Thanks man, I'd not found Lehua but they certainly look similar - the copy on the websites is certainly similar.

If I decide to go for it I'll be sure to post a review!
