Aloha everyone, it's not ukulele but I know a lot of us on UU love the Hawaiian culture (at least I do) and enjoy feather artwork. I'm taking a feather artwork class next month and can't wait! Can you say "feather hatband on the uke hat?".

From Aug 29th 2015 (yeah next year!!) to Feb 28th 2016 the de Young Museum in San Francisco is going to have a very special exhibit.

Sacred cloaks, capes, helmets, and regalia handcrafted with rare feathers from birds endemic to the islands.

This is going to be one heck of a display from what I understand. Just wanted to pass it on and pass on the Aloha.

I know it's a long way off but mark your calendars! Maybe I'll have a ukejam on the grass outside on one of the days and make it a Bay Area UkeJam event.

Mahalo!

Are you going to E Ho'omau retreat? I'm jealous. I got to sit with Herman when Kimo Hussey and Kalei Gemaio played in San Carlos last May. One of these years...
