I'm one of those who has kind of a love-hate relationship with Aquilas. On most solid tops, I think they can sound really harsh and I prefer fluorocarbons, but on some laminates/cheaper instruments, Aquilas can really wake them up.

I think the Yamaha GL1 is a really well made instrument for what it is. But let's face it, at its price point ($99 brand new shipped here in the US), it's clearly not made with the highest quality woods. I'm hoping the Aquilas might make it sound just a tad perkier.
