Cute, but boring. I couldn't bring myself to finish either video. There's no reason why that kind of technique couldn't be incorporated into conventional Ukulele playing, just to add a little spice. But by itself, it just causes my mind to wander.
 
I love this stuff!! I think it comes from the world of bass guitarists because they're often called upon to be a whole rhythm section. That might be why VegasGeorgefinds it "boring". It is really just drums, and bass.

I'm sure to be corrected, but I think this technique goes back to guys like Michael Hedges on the acoustic guitar and Stanley Jordan on electric guitar back in the 80s, and they drew a lot from Eddie van Halen of course. Billy Sheehan carried it to bass and was picked up by Wooten and others.
