Is this curly koa? I love the color. I know that its koa, but I've never seen that rippling pattern on the bottom of the uke only?

Yep. It's either crotch curl or compression curl. My guess is the latter.

Thanks Chuck! I thought the pattern was really interesting because of those ripples on the bottom of the ukulele.

My guess is a Kamaka from the headstock and tuners.

This place is awesome. You joined just this month, made 4 posts and you have a Kamaka with curly koa on the way. I do not feel bad about my growing flock in the least now. Another in transit, custom concert in the works and waiting to hear if my offer was accepted on a Koaloha tenor.

What a great name (the first of the two you mentioned)! There should be an up charge for wood that allows one to make that claim about the wood his or her ukulele is made from.
