My Long Thumbnail is Creeping Out My Wife

So I cut it recently, but now its growing back.

How many of you use a long thumbnail?

Is it useful or does it just get in the way?

You might want to learn how to use other strumming techniques. Brush, rol , claw, hot finger. triplet, etc.

I do!
It's definitely useful, just keep it rimmed a bit. Just so that you can see about 1/8 of an inch of it with your palm facing you. Otherwise, keep it long enough for picking. It does get in the way when it's too long, like when the side picking the string is straight, and gets caught on the string. In that case, I just round it off.

i remember a couple of weeks ago in a live lesson, think it might have been flake, someone asked aldrine about this and he said it seemed to help him having longer nails when playing
