Um...that's supposed to be "The proof of the pudding is in the eating." That is, the proof of the quality of something can only be known by actually partaking of it. On the other hand...I had a Christmas pudding that someone brought to a party once that was VERY high proof (so boozy a slice may have been enough to put someone over the legal limit to drive). So I suppose that pudding did indeed have quite a bit of "proof" in it.
I get some of the strangest click bait ads on this site now....
