    The Dragonfly

thanks for the encouragement, yes, it's original. I wanted to do something in 7/8 time so there it is, those phrases are based on 4+3, 4+3, 4+3. I've sort of found it's more difficult to adapt a tune to the ukulele than it is to write a new one. Early on I was intending to do Irish fiddle...

What is an unpopular/controversial opinion you have regarding the ukulele?

play it with the high E on top, easy. I play it in church every week in E to match our voices.

To the more experienced players - Have you held onto your first ukulele?

mine was a short scale Pono soprano, but I eventually sold it because the sound wasn't quite there once I experienced a Ko'olau. Also it only had 14 or 15 frets and on some arrangements I'd need 17 so working around that was also a problem. Sweet uke though.

    Double top design

I've seen some classical guitars with double tops on Youtube, didn't seem to make a lot of difference but maybe the player gets extra resonance. This one looks more like an elaborate pickguard than a double top.

https://soundcloud.com/user663189798/catherine-the-brave Here is an original in a traditional style, I pulled out the stops for this one, it's in two parts, introduction and theme. Ukulele is still my main melody instrument. Harmonicas and clarinets are filling things out.
