T2s are the three treble strings use on classical guitars. They are not ukulele specific so you use anything you can for the "G" string. In the case of the D'Addario T2s, the G and A string are identical. If you want a low G string, I like the Hilo wound Gs, they are not over powering like the Aquila low G can be.
Shoots, I'm almost sorry I put those strings on. I've gotten so much heat from Aquila fans about it! No, I haven't turned my back on Aquilas. They are still the best strings on my ukes for the average player. The T2s seems to have a more percussive sound that favors finger styling. Some players don't like the high tension and thicker diameter though. When you pluck a single Aquila string it seems that the rest of the strings vibrate sympathetically. I liken it to the Aquilas being a "chorus" while the T2s perform best as a "soloist". The strings need to be suited to the individual players' style of playing. That's why everyone needs at least a dozen ukes!
Thanks, Feels good to finallybe done. Now I'm debating wheter or not I want to go further now or wait. I have no kids yet so I can put a big dent in those final academia goals now before I ahve no time.
I really don't know what the criteria is and never bothered to ask. I also never paid attention to that till someone else pointed it out. I'm not into titles and all. I'm just glad I can contribute to the community by trying to upkeep the board and answer questions to the best of my ability.
