    Ukuleles, Arthritis and Yours Truly

Great suggestions. Set up and action are another way of helping the hands. You may lose a bit of volumn and some would suggest a bit of tone, but having strings super low and a radius fingerboard with soft strings would might all add up to a big change. Not to tell you to sell one of your...

New Uke Day (NUD) TYDE Koa Pocket Uke - It was meant to be!

Well, I got to play this today at our ukulele group. And let me tell you, it sucks!! It sucks that a little uke could play so well, and now I need one...Sucks I tell you 😜 Enjoy it on your travels. And if anyone wants to trade a used one for a sweet Kamaka, let me know.

    Low Action?

Jake Wildwood takes all his ukes to 1/16th of an inch at the 12th. I have owned four-no buzzing, great tone. I think Mim is wrong on this one.

    New Kamaka vs Vintage sound

New Kamakas sounds amazing, but I far prefer the classic sound of the old white and gold labels. If this uke is in good condition, even with some hairline cracking, it is well worth it.

Price Drop Regal Flamed Mahogany Soprano uke 1920’s Refurbished by Jake Wildwood Open To Offers UPDATED PHOTOS

Bump for this great soprano. For those of you who have never played and instrument that has been worked on by Jake, I can tell you it will probably be the best feeling thing you can imagine. Were I not 4 ukes over what I wish to have, I would snap it up (and in fact, I did make an almost...

What is an unpopular/controversial opinion you have regarding the ukulele?

Ok, here is my most unpopular personal truth. I hate 98 percent of chord melodies--they just sound boring AF to me.

What is an unpopular/controversial opinion you have regarding the ukulele?

When I lead a song at my uke group, I say "play it with any partner you like, just not the Island Strum"

What is an unpopular/controversial opinion you have regarding the ukulele?

Unpopular take--strumming patters usually get in the way of people's progressing.

Fantastic uke. And given that it went through Jake's hands, I am sure it plays perfectly.

    Sold KoAloha Opio Concert

One of my complaints about the Opio is that they usually are not very pretty. That is my only one, as these are really great ukes. On this uke, that complaint is null and void--this is a great looking uke.
