Thanks, it was totally unexpected. When they said my name, I waited awhile to let it sink in, then I opened my door and yelled " I just won an ukulele".

I have been really busy the last few weeks, so I really haven't had a lot of time with the new uke yet. Maybe only a couple of hours total on it so far. But I have to say, I love the Pineapple Concert size. The Acacia Confusa wood is really beautiful and has a warm tone to it. The intonation on it is perfect. I have had it less than a month, so I think it is a little too soon to compare it with all the other ukes yet. One thing I have noticed though, is on some of my ukuleles, it is difficult to get a really nice tone on the A string 10th fret. I have a song I am learning, and I practice it on different ukes. Some of the ukes are sweeter on that note, and the Makapili is one of those. I am shopping for a nice case for it right now. It currently is living in a cardboard uke box, wrapped in polar fleece, with a Herco. Check back with me in a couple of months, and I will have more to say about it.
