Many thanks, Voran, for your sympathy and the virtual hugs - I never refuse a hug! Well, not very often, anyway.
It became obvious that my wife would go first and I thought I was prepared for it. Little did I know! The worst aspect was the almost overwhelming sense of guilt. I had nothing for which to feel guilty - only that I was still alive. But I'm back enjoying life again.
