    Drill for partial mute strumming?

Hi, does anyone have a good way to practice strumming all four strings of a ukulele, but only sounding one or two? So you can maintain a steady strum but sound a melody at times?

Good resources *or* performers of flamenco ukulele?

Yeah, I've played a few Spanish style songs and it should be possible but I am not good enough to develop it on my own so hoping I can see/hear something that can help guide me. Thanks for the response!

I just discovered that 12-stringed ukuleles exist

I realize it isn't what you were talking about, but I have one of the harp ukes from Emerald, and while I bought it to add some... reciprocating? basslines to my music, I was pleasantly surprised at how much of a difference the strings make just in terms of resonance. Really amazing instrument...

Good resources *or* performers of flamenco ukulele?

I'm just curious, there are a few books on amazon but I don't know anyone who has used them. i love the sound of flamenco and "gypsy" guitar and curious if anyone has successfully ported it to the uke.

    Arrangements of lively celtic music

I really wish there were more arrangements along the lines of James Hill's Smash the Windows. There are a lot of very plain single note arrangements of various jigs and reels but I rarely find ones that have a lot of zip to them. Any leads?

    Renaissance Guitar resources?

I've been getting into more and more early music. There quite a bit of Dowland et al that is very relevant for the ukulele, especially linearly tuned. Mostly I've been using the Mizen book Lute to Uke, the Ruthen PDF Minstrel page, and some little pieces here and there that I have found. But...

    Best quality classical arrangements

Ripock, yeah, I do that occasionally but I really appreciate a well arranged piece of music and… yeah. On the banjo for instance I love the Sweeney stuff, but really like Mark Weems’ interpretation…. Patty, I have the Peterson book, which is good for me but sometimes feels too teachery? The...

    Best quality classical arrangements

I’m curious what are some standout classical songbook or arrangement options. i Have Tony Mizen‘s books and the John King book. The King book is close to perfect for me, Mizen is very mixed for me. The lute book feels great, I am less keen on the other two. I’m looking for good song choices that...

    critique my warmup

Brad: Thank you so much for that, I really look up to and appreciate your way of teaching/thinking about the instrument. Bill1: I was hoping you'd respond, I always appreciate your perspective. I'll take your points one at a time but first will say, I have a specific goal in mind. I'm a...

    critique my warmup

So I wanted a warmup that felt meaningful for my baritone/tenor guitar. A friend helped me out with this, and I started it recently, I really find it helpful. 1. Scale Practice: choose a scale, probably start with pentatonic, could be minor. a. Play it in a single position to get...

    PDF songbooks

Honestly I'm pretty catholic in my taste. I do like Daniel Ho's arrangements, which are fingerstyle and jazz/classically (at least the ones that I play). I also quite like Aaron Keim's baritone ukulele book, songs I mostly know from playing the banjo, so mostly old time/folk music, and they...

    PDF songbooks

This is an odd one but... the book that really got me somewhere with the uke forever ago was Aaron Keim's clawhammer book. I also love the resources available directly from Daniel Ho. Both of these wind up being PDF songbooks, which is perfect for me because I can have a printed copy in a...
