Agreed that they do sound like plastic with the stock strings, but I ended up putting some Worth browns on one, and by George, it sounds pretty good. It shouldn't work that way but it does.

Being a former (due to arthritis) woodcarver, I'm pretty familiar with Flexcut and have several of their knives and gouges. Frankly, the flex hardly comes into play. But the steel is good, well tempered and holds a nice edge - all characteristics that you want in a carving tool.

I have an Eastman soprano. It punches above its weight.

I have Freemont blacks on mine after hearing them on another players T1K. As my hands become more arthritic, this one gets more playing time because it's easier to make chords.

What a great instrument this is. I have one with the side port and the sound is rich and, can I say, kinda woody? And the shocking thing when you play it for the first time is that you feel the sound under your fingers on the fretboard.
