welcome to UU, I can offer some personal suggestions
A lot of this depends on your definition of beginner, if you're just starting with chords, I really recommend this song
http://www.ilovefizzypop.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/anyone-else-but-you.pdf
or if its not your style,
http://www.scorpex.net/uke/light_my_fire.pdf
is a nice introduction to chords too
if you're more into just playing melodies so far, I recommend anything form here:

if you want something else just let me know

With practice I think you might be able to master Elephant Town pretty quickly. It is a classic.

I don't know how to put a UU link on here yet, but if you search for it you'll find it.

Thanks, Melissa.

It truly is a fun little song to learn. How's yours going Melissa?

This is where some desperate single guy comes in and says

"ladies, ladies, there's plenty of me to go around"

If you're expecting me to say it, keep expecting :D

But at least now I know, the secret to having two ladies after me is to be like Ukulele Mike!

simple songs like
"The song formerly known as "Burrito" but renamed something else???" by Aldy
or some old school Temptations "Just my imagination" or "My Girl"

I still haven't found what I'm looking for (but I got the chords)

Try, 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for' by U2 it can be strummed or picked played at at tempo and is simply C F G you can do a lot with these chords.
