Classic Slack Key songs

I would like to learn to play a few of the classic hawaiian slack songs complete with the slack key tuning. Those of you with familiarity and enthusiasm for the slack key genre which pieces would you recommend? And do you have any preferred tutorials and/notation you feel would help me achieve my musical goals related to slack key?

I concur with Gary52. Mark Nelson’s book is the best of the lot for starting in on slack key on the uke. I just finished playing a couple of tunes out of the book. They are part of my daily repertoire.

Beyond what you will learn after that introductory book is up to you. There aren’t many transcriptions of classic slack key tunes out there. The vast majority are for guitar.

Thanks guys. I purchased the kindle version of Mark’s book and downloaded the audio files as well. Looks like a great resource, for sure!
