For reasons still unclear to me I have about 100 sets of Sitka spruce. (There’s no explaining wood hoarding). The dimensions are roughly 5" or 6" wide X 13" long X about 3mm or so in thickness. Good for tenor size ukes or smaller. I’m willing to give away at least half of them as I’ll never use them all. I can fit 10 to 12 sets in a Priority Mail box. I’ll even pay for the shipping. In exchange maybe you can donate $10 or $20 to your favorite local charity this Christmas time. No PMs please (I miss them). Just send me your address to moorebettahukes@aol.comD1913E80-BD83-4D91-B4C4-B835F06B428E.jpeg75991840-93E8-4D80-A1B4-E8399136796B.jpeg9BD46725-4456-4DE6-B525-BE75B0D0BC14.jpeg

Please pardon the silly question, but is board thickness 1/4"?

I can't say for sure how thick Chuck's wood is, but it has been my experience that spruce plates generally come at about 0.16 to 0.20 thickness. The thickness of spruce plates has never been much of a problem for me. Glue your plates together, get your big honken orbital sander out, slap on some 60 grit, cue up the stereo, and go for it. In no time you will be approaching target thickness.

By the way, that is extremely generous of Chuck. That tonewood is of some of the highest quality. Way to go Chuck!

This is a generous offer that is a win for the claimant and the charity and the community. Thank you Chuck!

I may find myself in the same position yet.

I also got my wood yesterday, beautiful , thank you so much. There was a yellow cedar top mixed in with the spruce, straight fine grain and a great tap tone; I'm thinking it will go well with my figured sapele. Has anyone one used yellow cedar for a top, I can't remember seeing it used for a tone wood before?

Is used for guitar tops.

Common Uses: Carving, boatbuilding, siding, flooring, decking, outdoor furniture, musical instruments (flutes, soundboards on guitars), boxes and chests, and various utility/construction applications.
