This may be a stupid question, but I'm having a hard time finding a hard case for my new ukulele (the previously mentioned Pono TT-4 Tahitian Style Tenor). Mostly I've only been seeing gig bags for pineapple-shaped ukuleles, but I really want to protect this one better than that. I've also found that cases listed aren't always clear on what exactly the internal dimensions are, which are far more important than the external.

The listed dimensions are:
Total length – 26-38”
Body length – 12-1/16”
Fingerboard width at nut at 12th fret 1-3/8” 1-11/16”
Scale length 16-15/16”

I don't know what the overall width is for determining the necessary case size, either.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This isn't a hardshell case, but it's an extremely rugged, stiff padded case by Fremont. I keep my Fluke in it, and because of the unique shape of your Pono, it may be an option. It comes in different sizes and the internal neck block is moveable, so you can get a pretty snug fit.

I got it from Uke Republic.

Even if you ultimately want a hardshell case, this may be a good option in the meantime, and if you eventually get a hardshell case for the Pono, you'll probably find another ukulele for the Fremont. I have all my normal ukuleles in hardshell cases, but this has been a great option for the Fluke.

Good luck in your search! Looks like a cool ukulele.

Muchos gracias. How sturdy is that? I certainly don't plan on banging my instruments around, but I do have a young German Shepherd. Can it take a little bumping?

How do you like the Fluke? I'm torn between a Fluke soprano or a Pono pineapple for my next uke (I haven't even gotten this one yet and I only know like seven chords! UAS is evil...).

Maybe even a banjolele Fluke, just because I like being weird.

Mine gets bumped around quite a bit - I'm a school music teacher, and it's always getting moved and colliding with other things. Not that I try to abuse it, but it can take a beating. I can't speak to the German Shepherd issue!

I like the Fluke quite a bit. The neck is a little wide, which I like, and I find it very playable. I have a low G on it. I wish it was a little brighter sounding, but that's what I have other ukuleles for. I do a lot of travel to Africa for humanitarian stuff, in some pretty remote areas and I always bring the Fluke because it's pretty indestructible.

Here's a video for the case from Uke Republic.
