You probably got the chords correct but he is actually tuned a whole step down which is why it didn't match.

Chords he is playing is D - C#m - Bm - A

But the sounds coming out is C - Bm - Am - G

easy way

heres an easier way to play it, sounds pretty much the same but dont take my word for it.

bar the 5th fret-bar the 4th fret-bar the 2nd fret-A
