I've been a Kiva member for years, I also make loans at Vittana, which is similar, but goes to student loans in poor countries. I think that can make a great impact too. http://www.vittana.org/

Dang, you mean Ukers are good people? Who knew?

Yeah that's a great idea and everybody wins. The Kiva program gets more exposure, projects get supported, we the donors get to help someone in less fortunate circumstances, and Mike gets a bit of PR for his business.

Thanks for resurrecting this thread and spreading the word!

There wasn't any news about the giveaway having happened yet, but this is something I've been meaning to do for some time anyway. Joined and a couple of small loans made.

Mike,

It's thanks to you that I joined Kiva over three years ago. Once I tried it out and found it to be both reliable and fulfilling, I told my wife, parents, in-laws, friends, and colleagues. (Kiva cards make a great gift, everyone!)

To date, we're talking eighteen members and ninety-eight loans -- and those are only the ones I know about.

All of this can be traced back to you, Mike, and your efforts. Thank you.

(PS thanks also for the uke -- I'm psyched!)

Thanks, Glass. Just checked mine and I've got a little bit of cash to redistribute as well.
