Thanks ambient
Olivah

well actually my index is pressing the A like a barre chord.

A 2
E 4
C 4
G 4
Thank you so much Ambient for you patience
Olivah

Ah sorry, see what you mean! Then yep that's an E alright. Not the easiest way to hold it but if it works for you then game on. :)

I'd probably just use the tip of my index on the a string and then do what you've done there with your remaining fingers or just use the ring finger to bar across the 3.
Have you looked at the sticky thread about the E chord above? Some good tips in there.

Well, whatever you find comfortable is good.

If it's a group strum and I just want to get there quickly I often play
2
4
4
X

With my thumb touching the G to damp it. Sounds fine.

Good luck Olivah, everyone hate it when an E come up! :)

yup Ambient tried that one, but damping with my thumb isn't that easy...I'll work on it.
What I find comfortable whith the way I do it, is that by having the index in such a strange (angled) position makes it easier to get the other fingers on the right position.
Don't know if that's clear.
Thanks
Olivah

Good luck! I've just been informed that the latest Uke Minutes #117 deals with mastering difficult chords..and E is a difficult chord, after six months I still dread it coming up!

Yes uker it's a luna high tide concert. I love it except for a "buzz" on C string...Will restring it soon and hope it fixes. I love to play it with headphones on Guitar rig.
Peace
Olivah
