Just read in the AARP magazine that when cats rub around your legs & ankles it’s not because they’re showing affection—they’re rubbing their pheromones on you. It’s a territorial device.I've found that in general cats like to be around undemanding humans best.
And when they roll on their backs they do NOT want a tummy rub. Thus when you start to rub the tummy you may get scratched!
