Iv been wanting to figure out a couple things about pickups

What are some good brands for acoustic pickups??

and does anyone know roughly how much it would cost to have one installed in a uke?? iv been needing a uke with a pickup in it and i don't particularly want to buy a new one if i can help it.

I talked to a local luthier about having an under-saddle pick-up installed and he quoted me about $40 for the installation. That, of course, doesn't include the cost of the pick-up. I've seen a nifty one made by (I think) L.R. Baggs that uses a charger rather than an onboard battery. Mainland Ukuleles sell it on their website for $109.50. I know that Fishman also makes popular acoustic pick-ups.

Keep in mind that Mi-si do not take batteries. They need to be recharged every now and again using a power adaptor, or using a 9v battery + stereo sound jack.

Another good, affordable pickup I've had too experience with is the Shadow Nanoflex.
They're a popular choice in factory built acoustic-electric ukes. They take a small watch battery and have tone/volume knobs.
