Hello all! Welcome to Season 545 of the ukulele-Calendar Girl
This week I ask you to bring me songs that mention your birth month or conception month in either the lyrics or title. My 58th birthday is next Saturday, so I am a July baby and may only cover or write songs that include the words July (or October) in the lyrics. If your birthday is in May, you may bring songs that include May (or August) in the lyrics, if it refers to the month...please not if it is used in its verb form. You may, however, use the gerund 'Maying', which makes reference to the month. Same for those of you born in March...just the month, not the John Philip Sousa or army type. August...just the month, please, not the adjective. Of course, any of these alternate uses are perfectly acceptable IF your birth and/or conception month is also in the song. And, though April, May, June and August are lovely people, please leave them out of it, unless your birth and/or conception month is also mentioned in the song. On Saturday, July 30, please feel free to bring songs that have Happy Birthday in the lyrics or title for your self-serving host :- ) but only on Saturday, if you please. I'd love to see Calendar Girl, by Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield as many times as possible. All of us are eligible for that Brill Building classic (Thanks Rick!)
Usual rules apply:
-Season runs from midnight tonight Hawaii time to midnight next Sunday night, July 31, Hawaii time.
-Please try to show both hands on the ukulele in your video so we can see what you are doing, it's a great way to learn.
-Include the season title and number somewhere in your YouTube posting.
-Fresh for season 545 videos. Rob, have at it. I'd love to see something new from you, too.
-Try to make the time to listen and comment on the submissions of others...you could make their day.
-No song limit, also repeat performances are fine.
-Collaborations, originals, multi-tracking, other instruments are all fine.
-Have fun!
-Keep telling the tale for Ila's season until the weekend is up.
