Hey all,

I just moved to Boulder yesterday and I'm going to need to find some great shops in the area, does anyone know/can anyone suggest a great uke shop or two? Thanks!

I don't believe there are any specific "uke" shops there. I'm about 1hour north of you. A great music store/lutherie is:
http://www.hbwoodsongs.com They actually are having Uke jams now on their first page. I don't think the carry any K brand or higher end ukes.

Robbs music is another music store, but I don't know if they have any ukes.

In dever there is Denver Folklore Center, only Kamaka dealer in Colorado: they also are Martin and Flea/Fluke dealer

thanks

A second vote for the Denver Folklore Center. They're certainly not a ukulele-only store, but they usually have quite a few. And sometimes some cool vintage ones, too.

good luck! Was in Boulder over the weekend (Boulder Creek Festival). I'll be back in August!

I visited wood sounds in March, they had a number of ukes but as a previous poster said, no K-brands or higher end ukes. No vintage ukes either. Nice folks though.

Man I miss this shop. Truly one of the best music shops in the country. Not because of their incredible inventory... But because of the people. The owner, Harry, is a bit oh a folk icon. It is likely the best selection of ukuleles in the area. Well worth the trip if you are in the area.

I live in Louisville, just outside Boulder.

Robb's music has a good selection of Kala and a few other brands, but nothing high end. Woodsongs has a small selection (usually less than 5), again, nothing high end. They occasionally have vintage. Your best bet is the Denver Folklore Center, which has a huge selection and a few high end instruments.

Also google the Boulder Ukulele Group which meets every few weeks.

I definitely recommend HB Woodsongs. They have more ukes now, and a nice selection of Ohanas. I bought a tenor Ohana this March and I got great service. Also a nice lutherie upstairs. Denver Folklore Center is great also.
